About Gil

Gil McGregor is a native of Raeford, North Carolina. He is a Civil Rights pioneer who helped integrate his high school and basketball gyms across the eastern part of the state. He went on to a standout basketball career at Wake Forest University, and a 10-year career in professional basketball. Following that success he spent 26 years as a broadcaster for the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. McGregor is now a motivational speaker and commentator, living in Charlotte, N.C. with his wife Frieda.

About Tucker

Tucker Mitchell has authored or edited three books, including Peahead! Life and Times of a Southern-Fried Coach, and Hornets Never Lie. He worked closely with his old pal Gil McGregor to craft The Blind Truth. Tucker is a long-time journalist in the Carolinas. He and his wife Cindy live in High Point, N.C.
